Pro Tip: Prepped Chicken Breast

Every good Chef knows the importance of prepping food beforehand. Pre-breading and cooking these breast will save you half the time on hundreds of recipes. Good for up to 6 months.


Ingredients

  • 3 Packages of Thin Sliced Chicken Breasts (8 breasts per package Walmart).

  • 3 Eggs

  • 2 Cups of Milk

  • Flour for breading

  • Oil for cooking

Directions

  1. Lightly pound each breast with a meat hammer until 1/2 thickness.

  2. Place breasts on a baking sheet or sheets ensuring breast are not touching each other. Use parchment paper to reduce cleaning time. Place pans in oven and start oven at 350 degrees. After 3 minutes, turn oven off, Keeping the door closed for 1 hour. The reason for this is to ensure breading sticks to meat when frying. Wet meat will not stick to breading.

  3. Remove Breasts from oven, and discard parchment paper carefully to reduce cleanup.

  4. Place a suitable amount of oil in a large skillet and heat oil to 350 degrees.

  5. Beat eggs and milk into an egg wash. Place flour in a separate bowl.

  6. Place dried breast in flour, then move to egg wash, and repeat flouring.

  7. Place breasts in oil, and cook until golden brown. Be careful not to overcook. If anything its best to undercook, because chicken will be cooked again with other recipes.

  8. Repeat until all breasts are cooked.

  9. Place cooked breasts in dated Ziplocs 2, 4, 6, or 8 depending on your family size.

  10. Place in freezer until needed.
