Easy Chicken Marsala

Here's another family friendly shortcut Chicken dish ready in under 20 minutes. Served in a delicious wine sauce and smothered in fresh mushrooms.


Ingredients

  • 5 or 6 Frozen Grilled Chicken Filets (Thawed, ready to eat).

  • 2 Tablespoons Butter

  • 2 cups sliced mushrooms

  • 1/2 cup Marsala Wine or Dark Red Wine of your choice.

  • 1/2 cup Chicken Broth

  • 3/4 cup Heavy Cream

  • 1 teaspoon Ground Mustard

  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder

  • 1 Teaspoon Kosher Salt

  • 1Tablespoon Cracked Peppercorn

  • Roux for thickening Sauce (If Gluten Free, use Argo Corn Starch with Butter for Roux ingredients).

  • Fresh Chopped Parsley for garnish

Directions

  1. Place butter in a large skillet and add Wine, Chicken Broth and Heavy Cream and bring to a low boil.

  2. Whisk to blend ingredients.

  3. Once blended add Ground Mustard, Garlic Powder, Salt and Cracked Peppercorn.

  4. Add Roux a little at a time until sauce thickens.

  5. Add Chicken to sauce and top with Mushrooms.

  6. Let simmer with a lid on low heat until Chicken and Mushrooms are softened and thoroughly heated. If space is limited in the skillet, you can heat up Chicken Filets in the microwave and plate pouring sauce mixture over Chicken. However, simmering the Chicken in the sauce on low covered will make the Chicken texture softer.

  7. Top mixture with freshly chopped Parsley.

  8. Plate and serve with your choice of vegetable.
