Classic Manhattan

Rumor has it that this drink was originally the "House Drink" at the Manhattan Club in New York. Since that time, it has become a classic, and one of the most popular Dinner drinks.


Ingredients

  • 2 Ounces of your favorite Rye Whiskey

  • 1 Ounce Sweet Vermouth

  • 2 Dashes Angostura Bitters

  • 1 Dash Orange Bitters

Directions

  1. Add the Bourbon (or Rye), Sweet Vermouth and both Bitters to a mixing glass with ice, and stir until well-chilled.

  2. Garnish with a brandied cherry or a lemon twist.
